Welcome to Rose Wood Academy.

Rose Wood School opened in 1993 to serve one of the new housing developments in Coulby Newham, South West Middlesbrough. We have attractive, spacious grounds and an interestingly designed main building. Our teaching areas are well-equipped and semi-open plan. The children at our school are well behaved, polite and hard working. They welcome new pupils eagerly. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic and well-qualified, and provide an excellent standard of teaching. We work alongside our School Governors to ensure a high standard of education for all our children.

In January 2014 Rose Wood School formerly converted to academy status as part of a group of five schools who formed the Discovery Alliance. This group of independent academies consists of Rose Wood, Viewley Hill, Sunnyside, Hemlinton Hall and Kings Academy.  Converting to an academy allows us to work with other schools in a creative and purposeful way, promoting high standards for all our pupils whilst still maintaining our own individual ethos.

The school provides a "good" standard of education (Ofsted 2012) and prides itself on the way in which all pupils are cared, for, valued and helped to achieve their learning potential.

We value the support of parents, and see them as vital partners in the education process.

This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
